DECKO Composite Wood

Eco-Composite Wood (ECW) or Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) can apply to any product that contains wood with a thermoset and/or thermoplastic.

Wood-plastic composites are still relatively new materials in the long history of utilising natural timber as a building material. The most common use of WPCs is in outdoor deck floors, but it’s also used for railings, fences, landscaping timbers, cladding, commercial projects such as park benches and boardwalks as well as indoor furniture. Wood-plastic composites were first introduced into the decking market in the early 1990s. The main reason behind development of this evolutionary innovation was to create a more environmentally friendly and durable material requiring less maintenance than solid wood treated with preservatives.

RUBICAB DECKO brand ECW is comprised of approximately 55% hardwood chips, 35% grade A recycled HDPE plastic and 10% anti- oxidation and bonding elements to enable extensive longevity of the composite wood. We only use recycled materials which reduces deforestation and improves our environment by saving thousands of tonnes of landfill every year.

Hardwood is selected for its excellent durability and strength properties. It is reduced to fine particles and thoroughly mixed with heated thermoplastic resin to produce ECW.
